Beautiful concept.

Never have I seen or even heard of a game concept in which the game itself is turned inside out, becomes self-thinking and questions it's very existence. Not like this at least. Although the graphics and gameplay are as minimalist as I could ever imagine, I can come to appreciate them more when they revolve around such an intriguing and unique story.

The level design, addition of power-ups, and interactive blocks are things that raise that minimalist bar, however. The placement of these elements in some of the levels in the game presented simple, yet challenging, obstacles that kept the gameplay interest going. Sound effects were effective and appropriately matched every situation, from picking up items to destroying the floating "bugs", although I was a bit confused to hear the quack for the super-jump pickup.

Overall, this is an excellent example of what an extremely simple game can accomplish with the addition of a solid and interesting plot that keeps the player yearning to reach the end. Excellent work!

Exciting visuals, but a bit bland overall.

This is a neat little game with a fun, old-school concept. The interface is a little overwhelming at first, but is organized and becomes easy to understand after awhile. The visuals and characters look great, but I feel like they would've added much more interest and excitement during gameplay with some type of animation.

The music is smooth and calming, but didn't fit the game's concept or style well enough to give that high-speed feeling of zooming and blasting through bad guys. The controls were also a bit wonky. The keys could've been placed better, and using the mouse to navigate was a great idea, but wasn't very successful due to it's poor responsiveness and overall sluggish movement, and I had most of the graphic settings turned off during the game.

In a nut shell, the game has a great presentation and wonderful graphics, but leaves the player rather bored after the first few levels due to the absence of animation and slow movement. I felt like the game was just okay, and could have used some fine-tuning in it's details. Good work nonetheless!
